The Influence Of Quay Container Crane Performance And Container Yard Capacity On Increasing Container Throughput At TPK KOJA
Abstract
This study examines the influence of quay container crane performance and yard capacity on increasing container throughput at Koja Container Terminal (TPK Koja). The main problem is the long waiting time for increased containers, averaging 3.5 days, which exceeds the government standard of 3 days. This condition reflects inefficiency in terminal operations and infrastructure, particularly the poor condition of container cranes at berths 1 and 6 of berth 7, as well as limited yard space that cannot accommodate the increasing volume of containers. The research applies a quantitative approach by collecting data through field observations, interviews, and questionnaires distributed to employees of the terminal operations division at TPK Koja. Data are analyzed using statistical methods to examine the effect of two independent variables, quay container crane performance (X1) and yard capacity (X2), on container throughput (Y). The results are expected to provide insights for increasing operational efficiency and supporting better terminal performance.
