THE INFLUENCE OF DOCK LAYOUT AND GANTRY CRANE ON LOADING AND UNLOADING SPEED AT PIERS 303 – 305 PT. PORT OF INDONESIA PERSERO II

Abstract


This research is motivated by the development of technology in the shipping industry, especially in terms of shipping goods. This study aims to see the effect of dock layout and gantry crane on loading and unloading speed at pier 303-305 at PT. Indonesian Port Persero II. The research method used in this research was case study research in which the data collection techniques used were interviews and direct observation. Analysis of the data used was the Berth occupancy ratio (BOR), Field occupancy ratio (YOR), and the performance of the gantry crane. The results of this research show that the data on the ships used are 7000 DWT with a container capacity of 200 – 500 TEU's, data on the pier with an area of 450 meters x 60 meters, data on ship flows that always increase every year and data on cargo flows starting from 2013 amounted to 361131 tons until 2019 amounted to 618375 tons. The results of the BOR calculation starting in 2013 – 2017 were found to be <70%, while the BOR for 2018-2019 was found to be >70%. Based on this, the length of the wharf that should be used at piers 303 – 305 PT. Indonesian Port of Persero II in 2019 is 616.49 meters or must increase the length of 166.49 meters. Then the results of the gantry crane calculation show that the capacity for 6 RTGs is 293760 TEU's/year. In addition, BTP and YTP at pier 303 – 305 PT. Port of Indonesia Persero II continues to grow every year.
