The Importance and Performance Levels of the Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) in Airline Companies: A Pilot's Perspective

Abstract


This study aims to assess the relevance and performance of the Fatigue Risk Management System (FRMS) from the viewpoint of pilots, focusing on its effectiveness in minimizing fatigue-related risks. Pilot fatigue is a significant safety concern in aviation, and FRMS is a structured system intended to mitigate such risks by monitoring, reporting, and implementing preventive measures. This research utilizes the Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) to evaluate FRMS implementation within airline companies. Through questionnaires and surveys, the study considers varying levels of pilot fatigue and how the FRMS addresses these variations. The findings expose several shortcomings in the execution of the system and suggest necessary improvements in managing pilot fatigue. The insights gained contribute to improving FRMS application and enhancing overall airline safety practices.
