The Effect of The Optimalization Crane and Yard Occupancy Ratio On Container Movement at JICTs Terminal in 2023

Abstract


The use of containers in freight forwarding systems continues to grow, demanding increased efficiency in cargo handling at ports. PT. Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) as one of the companies that owns the largest container terminal in Indonesia, seeks to optimize the performance of Quay Container Crane (QCC) and Rubber Tyred Gantry Crane (RTGC) to improve the efficiency of Container Movement. Container Movement refers to the movement of containers from and to ships, measured by the speed of the loading and unloading process? supported by the crane's performance. In addition, the Yard Occupancy Ratio (YOR), which describes the level of density in the container stacking area, is also a crucial factor in determining operational efficiency. This research was carried out quantitatively and analyzed data obtained from JICT in 2023. The purpose of the study is to identify the influence of QCC and RTGC optimization and YOR management on the efficiency? of Container Movement in JICT terminals. The results of the research are expected to provide strategic insights for improving operational performance and container terminal management at JICT
