THE INFLUENCE OF AUTOMATION AND WORKING CONDITION ON PILOTS JOB SATISFACTION AT GARUDA INDONESIA

Abstract


Job satisfaction is a crucial aspect that can enhance the loyalty and productivity of employees. In the aviation context, the pilots job satisfaction is important in human resource areas yet maintaining favourable working conditions and increasing usage rate of automation technology remain as challenges at Garuda Indonesia. This research aims to study the influence of automation and working conditions on pilots job satisfaction at Garuda Indonesia. The data from 40 pilots at Garuda Indonesia was collected through an online survey and analysed using quantitative methods through Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) PLS. The results from analysed data show that automation has indirect influence on job satisfaction and strong positive direct influence on working condition. Moreover, working condition has a moderate positive influence on job satisfaction.
